So we took a little drive from Tulsa to NYC recently. It was a "business" trip that we turned into a vacation and adventure. The rain kept us from really getting in as much riding as we hoped, but we did get 3 nice days to ride in Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
This photo is from our time in Virginia, just outside of Salem. If you're ever in that neck of the woods, look up Just The Right Gear bike shop. They're a sweet little shop who happen to be just a couple miles from singletrack heaven. They'll set you up with all the directions you'll need as well as sell you the required day pass. It's only 2 bones, and it keeps you from having to go way out of your way to the ranger's station just to pick up a pass.
If you're ever in the area, ride there. Trust me.
If you have time, make your way over to the Ashville, NC area and into Brevard. It's only about 25 minutes outside of Ashville and the guys at the Sycamore shop with take good care of you with trail info.
Good times.
Good.
Times.
